How MDSkyBoard Started
MDSkyBoard was conceived by a medical device sales rep who recognized inefficiencies in how hospitals scheduled device reps for upcoming surgeries. During his tenure in the medical device industry, he experienced innumerable instances of scheduling failures, such as:
- Receiving panicked phone calls from hospital OR staff that had forgot to contact him about a case ready to begin.
- Driving for hours only to arrive and learn that a case that had been cancelled the prior day.
- Receiving emails from hospitals trying to schedule him for an upcoming case, only to find that he was not the correct rep for the product that was going to be used.
- Receiving personal text messages from OR staff who desperately needed case support and did not have any other method to contact a rep promptly.
- Interacting with stressed OR directors and managers who felt pressure to keep the hospital’s internal OR board running efficiently and the sales reps informed.
- Dealing with surgeons who were frustrated with the lack of case support they experienced due to the hospital never reaching out to reps for coverage.
All of these experiences led him to develop the idea behind MDSkyBoard. Collaborating with a veteran of the internet technologies industry and a team of investors led to MDSkyBoard, am innovative cloud-based software that can solve all of these case coordination failures.
